The Ability to live in The Promised Land

God wanted the Children of Israel to live there in according with the Old Covenant. The Law was given to make man conscious of his moral condition as a sinner and of his need for a Savior. The Tabernacle, and its Sacrifices which accompanied the Law, revealed that Savior in symbol. The Lord kept His promise, and gave them the land; however, His Children did not keep their promise to Him. Man fails in every test to which he is exposed; therefore, it was imperative that God become man, which He did in the Person of Christ, and did for man what man could not do for himself.  
“A land flowing with milk and honey” is found fifteen times in the Pentateuah, and five times elsewhere. By the repetition God truly must want His children living there. Looking back at The Children of Israel we can see we cannot live there by the Old Covenant, [Law] alone, or by what we can do. The Lord through His son Jesus gave us a New and better Covenant. “But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.” Because of the Sacrifice Jesus gave and with the power of the Holy Spirit we now have the ability to live in “a land flowing with milk and honey”.
